01.07.1996 - Foundation of Ferro Umformtechnik GmbH & Co. KG by Heinrich Dünne, Siegfried Rölver, Ludwig Upgang and Hermann Möllers with the innovative idea of the first 2.5D laser cutting head.

1999

Extension of the machinery and commissioning of the 16.700 mm long bending press, which marked the start oft the production of boom semi-shells.

2002

Idea and development of an innovative laser welding process.

2007/2008

Introduction of laser welding, within the regulated area in accordance with standards and legal provisions.

2008

Strategic realignment: From parts manufacturer based on drawings to component production, thus offering a more comprehensive value chain and meeting customer requirements in a more targeted manner.

2010

02.05.20210 - Approval of the first laser welded boom shell featuring a cross-weld seam for Liebherr, Ehingen.
Approval process of longitudinal and cross seams for metal sheets and profiles. 

2010/2011

Building a strong network with customers, suppliers, welding companies, stell manufactures and the Ferro team to increase competitiveness.

2011

Establishment of a design & materials engineering department within Ferro.

2015

Strategic adaptation: Focus on customer and product requirements in oder to increase production efficiency. 

2016 - 2023

Focus on Industry 4.0, digitalisation and automation.

Development of digital roadmap with 40 projects in cooperation with the RWTH Aachen (Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule – Rhine-Westphalian Technical University).

2019 - 2024

Development of an automated production line.

Assembly of the first automatic bending press with a length of up to 12,500 mm.

2020

Foundation of Ferro Service Sp. z o.o., Gubin, Poland – partner company for small parts up to 3 m length.

2021

01.08.2021 - Takeover of partnership shares by Tanja Möllers and Maik Upgang from the partners Ludwig Upgang and Hermann Möllers; Heinz Dünne's partnership remains unchanged. 

2023

Adaption of the company policy in accordance with sustainable production 4.0.
